Edinburgh festival 2017

Im excited to say it looks like I’ll be up in Edinburgh running a gig at the festival this year (2017).
I’m going to organise some get-togethers to talk about the kinds of things I write about here, and also maybe some common practical challenges we all face in doing these brilliant things we do.

What could we discuss?
What could we try and fix?

For example:
– Looking after ourselves.
– Finding the right people to work with.
– Bums on seats / finding audiences.
– ‘The Industry’. (As in the mechanics of creative industries, what dont we like, what could we change, what shouldnt still ‘be a thing’)

Thats just a few ideas to get us going, what would you like to talk about?
I’ll be spending time thinking about more possibilities.

Get in touch, maybe we can make a thing!

Collaborate

Collaborate.

Individually we can achieve A LOT.
Together we can make INCREDIBLE things happen.

Who can you talk to this week and do a thing?

Useful beliefs.

What are you doing right now?
What are you working on?

What do you believe, really believe, about both the task / project and your ability to complete it? Be honest, don’t hide.

Write them down.

Take a good look at them, for each one ask yourself “is this a USEFUL belief?”.
THEN ASK – is it true? ARE YOU SURE?
If it’s not useful, or not true, consider what a more useful belief would be?

Commit to developing the more useful belief.

How?

Affirm it!
Repeat the useful thought over and over.

Visualise it!
Make a picture in your mind of the task / project completed, enjoy it!

Make a picture of YOU in your mind, the YOU that believes the more useful thing.
How does that feel?

Contributing to the scene

Everyone has something to offer the scene / people they seek to serve.
Everyone. Now.

You can DO SOMETHING NOW for your industry / community / friends / family / followers / subscribers / customers / clients.

Ask a question, write a blog, post a chorus on instagram, recommend a performance.
Pick something.
